MESOTHERAPY & DUTASTERIDE COMBO THERAPY
Dr. Rapaport occasionally mixes Mesotherapy with Project PRP. Because these two medicines work well together, the effects of this combo treatment are improved.
Combination therapy, such as Mesotherapy with Dutasteride, can be used to cure hair loss while lowering systemic absorption, claims Dr. Rapaport. Dutasteride can be administered precisely to the hair follicles where it works best by injecting the medication into the scalp. By minimizing the amount of drug taken into the bloodstream, this technique lowers the possibility of adverse consequences. As a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Rapaport administers all mesotherapy injections personally to get optimal outcomes. This is because he is better qualified to identify the targeted areas (the maximum quantity is restricted) and the injection depth. Each person’s injection technique is unique, as are the locations they treat.
The conventional mesotherapy procedure involves injecting a combination of vitamins, minerals, or pharmaceuticals into the mesoderm, or the layer of skin beneath the epidermis. Dr. Rapaport treats different kinds of hair loss with his own variation of this method. He believes that the FDA-approved oral medication dutasteride can be a successful off-label treatment for hair loss. Dutasteride functions by preventing the production of the hormone DHT, which is one of the primary causes of hair loss in both men and women, by inhibiting the alpha reductase enzyme.
A new investigation into the efficacy of mesotherapy with dutasteride for the treatment of male-pattern hair loss was published in the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery. Twenty male patients who had six months of dutasteride-infused mesotherapy were included in the study. With little adverse effects, the procedure significantly increased the thickness and density of the hair.
A second research comparing the efficacy of oral dutasteride against mesotherapy with dutasteride for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia was published in the International Journal of Trichology. In this trial, sixty male patients were randomized to either oral dutasteride or mesotherapy with dutasteride for a period of six months. Hair density and thickness significantly improved with both treatments, but surprisingly, individuals who underwent dutasteride mesotherapy experienced less side effects.
A hair specialist or dermatologist would usually administer mesotherapy along with a combination therapy of dutasteride injections into the scalp using a very thin needle. The degree of the hair loss and the patient’s reaction to therapy will determine how many sessions are needed. Typically, treatments are given three months apart.
Combining mesotherapy with dutasteride is a novel approach to treating hair loss. It is a focused strategy that lowers the possibility of adverse effects from oral drugs. Although further study is required to validate its efficacy, encouraging findings have come from preliminary investigations.
